Adam and Eve go together like carrots and peas, right? Only he’d been married before. His first wife, Lilith. She left him to become queen of the demons. Let’s hope he divorced her rather than committed adultery.

Afterward, she dined on mothers, young babies, and whatever male took her fancy. What is it with vampire women that makes them irresistible to males?

Most pagans recognize the name Hecate, but her daughter’s not mentioned much. Legend says Empusa was a brass-footed demonic monster. She sounds attractive, right? Well, she could be. She transformed into a beautiful woman, a seductress who fed from her lovers. While they slept, she drank their blood. Some men paid a high price for their one-night-stand.

Then there was Lamia. Zeus seduced her, but then he bedded any male or female that came his way. Only in her case, Hera found out. She forced poor Lamia to eat her own children. Sadly, she acquired a taste for a baby’s flesh. In Greek myth, she drains children as they sleep. Horrible as that is, I’m not certain that Here gave a damn. Everyone acclaimed Lamia’s beauty. If handsome males want to survive, they should avoid this seductress or she’ll drain them too.

Basically, any man seduced by an attractive young woman risked his life to bed her. That’s the best birth control I’ve ever heard of.

I've got an ulterior motive for talking about vampires.

My latest book has three of them who've bonded into a triad. Then they find their mate.

Blurb

When she is captured and thrown into a cage filled with ravenous vampires, Gwen assumes she will be devoured. But among the horde is a huge, terrifyingly powerful berserker who has other plans for her. She will belong not only to him, but to all of the vampires of his triad, and her beautiful body will be theirs to use and enjoy as thoroughly and shamefully as they please.

Gwen soon learns that her new masters will demand obedience from their little human, and it isn’t long before her defiance has earned her a painful, humiliating spanking. But even with tears still running down her blushing cheeks, her helpless arousal cannot be denied, and as she is claimed and ravaged again and again her pleas for mercy are soon lost amid her cries of pleasure.

Publisher’s Note: Claimed as Theirs is a stand-alone novel set in the same world as Taken as Theirs. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Except

He landed three warm-up blows that sent tingles shooting through her blood. I never knew I had a submissive side, but please don’t let him stop. As if he read her thoughts, he spanked her hard and fast. Pain melted her bones and froze her brain. Helpless, she panted and wriggled as her anguished shrieks echoed around the room.

Her world narrowed into darkness, gut-wrenching sobs, and endless slaps. He spread his blows from the top of her ass to her sit spots. When he started on her thighs, it felt like a swarm of fire ants attacking her tender flesh. She wept so hard her chest hurt. She couldn’t move or hold in her anguished shrieks. All she could do was endure.

Her generous breasts swung like pendulums below her. The searing heat he built in her bottom scorched her soul. Gore inched beneath her and sucked her pearled nipple between his lips. As he licked and teased her, his hands tormented her other breast. His gentle touch contrasted with the heavy-handed slaps battering her bum. The muddled sensations added a fresh layer to the conflicted emotions powering through her.

Bronte beat a slow, steady rhythm on her posterior, turning her backside beyond painful. The third, Plato, knelt between her legs. As the spanking slowed, he fingered her puckered rear hole as he sucked at her nubbin. Horrified, she tensed and moaned. “No. Not there. I’ve never…”

This was agony and ecstasy—a forbidden delight that sent delighted shivers racing through her veins. She came in a rush of damp heat, sticky residue coating her thighs.

Plato pushed his finger through her tight rear entrance. “Relax, angel, and enjoy the ride.”

Bronte peppered more slaps on the upper curve of her bottom, careful to allow Plato free access to her naughtiest hole. Her lungs froze as a deluge of sensation hit her. Her behind burned and her bottom complained at the intrusion. As he worked his finger deeper, she squealed—but she didn’t know if it was from sensual delight or pain.

She stopped caring about who did what and accepted the delicious feelings they sparked within her. Detonation. Orgasm. A blast of pure pleasure that turned her nipples into thrumming mountain peaks. She screamed as her inhibitions melted into a puddle of goo. Much as she should hate this—and them—she loved the wanton sensations these vampires woke inside her.

She’d never imagined that three men would desire her or that she could crave them so badly. Without warning, Plato stood between her legs. His penis ripped through her hymen. She whimpered and squirmed, part in protest that he’d stolen her virginity but mostly with unexpected bliss.

Review of Vicious Creatures

“Killing people silences the screaming in my head.”

Chloe West’s father trained her to kill on command, and she was the best in the business.

Ten years ago, she was supposed to infiltrate a paranormal academy, kill a few faculty members and students, and make it look like an accident. Then her daddy could step in and buy the property for less than it's worth.

Instead, the head teacher enchanted her into being  gentle-natured and passive. All she wants is to be a hairdresser. And she has no memory of her murderous past.

When a friendly witch breaks the spell, her memory rushes back. No longer a sweet-natured young woman her friends know and love, she doesn't want to see judgment in their eyes. Rather than face them, she flees.

Now her ambition is to rid he world of her billionaire father and make amends for all the pain and mayhem her killer persona created.

Then there’s Dwayne. Never forget Dwayne. He’s a killer goose with psychotic tendencies and Chloe’s best friend.

****

I loved the storytelling and breadth of imagination in this book.

It’s hard not to identify with Chloe as she takes out various bad guys and befriends other paranormal creatures.

As mentioned, I have a soft spot for Dwayne. Let’s face it, who doesn’t want a killer goose for a best friend? Then there are vampires and a strategist who helped train her. He tells life's a chessboard, and while she might be a knight, she could be the queen.

The medical research behind the murders is fascinating. If the police ever check Ms Hignett’s computer history, she could be in trouble.

This book, and the rest of the series, took over my life. Unable to put i down, I until the small hours then stated the next in series. It wasn’t until I finished the complete Waif in the Wilds series that I realised that although complete in itself, it's is part of a huge story arc.

Now I’m on a mission to read the connected series. I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves a slow building paranormal romance set in one of the best imaginary worlds I’ve ever visited. Best of all, a gentle humour runs through every word.
