Finding Euphoria –the first book in the Euphoria trilogy
Thank you Kryssie for hosting me on your blog today! Here are my five facts for my thriller romance novel Finding Euphoria.
1. Aparistine, the toxic chemical from the Bixa aparra plant in Finding Euphoria was originally going to be myristicin from the common spice nutmeg.
2. The title Finding Euphoria has a double meaning—the protagonist’s search to find the drug Euphoria to save her son, and also the protagonist’s journey in finding joy in her life after years of sorrow and regret from giving up her baby for adoption.
3. Inspiration for this book came from creating a drug to cure Parkinson’s disease.
4. A different Bixa aparra component (leaf, root, and flower) is the focus of each book in the Euphoria trilogy.
5. The names of one of the book’s researchers and her father collectively form the name of a neurotransmitter, acetylcholine.
Finding Euphoria, By C. Becker Blurb
Hailey Langley refuses to be a victim and has moved on from her traumatic past. But her marriage problems worsen when a deadly illicit drug threatens to draw her into the life she left behind.
Mark Langley has allowed his job to interfere with his marriage, but he never suspected the secrets in Hailey’s past might hold the key to solving both of his current investigations.
Together, they must unravel the mystery of the drug called Euphoria and find a way to save not only their marriage, but countless lives, before it’s too late.
