5 Facts about Sea Hunter
1. Fact one it today is its release day and I’m so excited to bring my first
historical/paranormal/romance. The book is part of the Mortar & Pestle series by seven
different authors.
2. A ton of research went into creating this novella. I visited shipyards in Maine and
Massachusetts an even spent time in the Whydah Pirate Museum where I chatted with
one of the conservators of the artifacts. Learning about technology after WWII also
fascinated me.
3. The inspiration for Zahra Corbyn is Amelia Earhart. Her adventurous spirit led the way
for many women to leave behind preconceived notions of what a woman could do and
paved the way for so many. I think of Zahra as the child Lara Croft and Indiana Jones
would have made.
4. The pirate Cyrus Cygan is loosely based on the notorious Sam Bellamy and the loss of
his ship, The Whydah Galley off the coast Mass. The went down in 1717 and the ship
wasn’t found until 1984 and became the first ever pirate shipwreck with its identity
having been established and authenticated beyond doubt when they found the ships
bell.
5. Scenes from Sea Hunter take place underwater. I researched the type of sea creatures
and plants to bring the reader under with us by watching videos of divers. From striped-
bass to mackerel, to lobsters and sea urchins, and even predators like sharks swim
between my pages.
On the turbulent high seas, an archeologist must protect a historic shipwreck from treasure hunters—not fall for one.

Zahra Corbyn.
I’m a Sea Hunter. As an underwater archeologist and professor of antiquities, it is my duty to
stop treasure hunters and looters from raiding Sea Wraith. But fate is a funny thing. Now I find myself working with Jack Alexander, a treasure hunter, to protect history from a known looter. Did my heart’s desire change?
Captain Jack Alexander.
I’ve been told women on a ship are unlucky, but this one has the two pieces of the map I need to finally claim Sea Wraith. Now I find myself in a deal that makes me one-third partner with her and a known scoundrel.
Can the two unlikely allies work together while safeguarding their hearts against the power of the Mortar and Pestle?
If you like Lara Croft and Indiana Jones, you’ll love Zahra Corbyn and Jack Alexander.
